CENTENNIAL TO HONOR HEROES FROM NURSING HOME FIRE
NASHVILLE, Tenn., November 7, 2003 On Monday, November 10, Centennial Medical Center will host a Heroes Celebration to recognize the brave employees who helped with rescue efforts during the deadly NHC fire on September 25, 2003. Approximately 200 people will be in attendance.
The NHC fire broke out at approximately 11:00 p.m. with more than 120 patients, mostly bed ridden, trapped inside the burning building. Centennial responded to the distress call immediately with the mobilization of a Code Delta and the deployment of approximately 20 employees. Centennial served as triage for more than 85 patients, admitting 58 patients.
